KenzFigee Inks Deal with Aker Solutions for Offshore Wind Crane
Lifting specialist KenzFigee has recently finalized a significant contract with Aker Solutions to deliver a specialized offshore pedestal crane designated for the Norfolk Vanguard West offshore wind farm, a project led by Vattenfall.
The contracted equipment, an electric hydraulic box boom offshore Ram Luffing 2400 crane with a Safe Working Load (SWL) of 20 tons, has been exclusively designed and manufactured by KenzFigee. This crane is slated for installation on the Norfolk Vanguard high-voltage, direct current converter station, strategically positioned off the Norfolk coast in the UK.
In adherence to stringent standards, the crane has been meticulously designed and verified according to EN13852-1 specifications and holds certification to DNVGL-ST-0378 lifting requirements. Safety, reliability, and low maintenance are central to the crane's design philosophy. Noteworthy Western European brands have been integrated into the crane to ensure the highest quality standards.
Assembly and rigorous testing of the crane are being conducted at KenzFigee's state-of-the-art facility located in the Netherlands. The anticipated delivery of the Ram Luffing offshore crane is scheduled for the third quarter of 2024.
Maikel Takken, CEO of KenzFigee, emphasized the strategic importance of this contract, considering it a pivotal milestone in strengthening the partnership between KenzFigee and Aker Solutions within the renewable energy sector. The companies are optimistic about the prospect of this collaboration forming the foundation for a sustained, long-term alliance.
