Japanese shipping company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) and French renewable energy firm EDF Renewables have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on accelerating the development of offshore wind and related businesses, with a focus on green hydrogen. Both companies aim to leverage their expertise in offshore wind energy and green hydrogen solutions to support global offshore wind energy goals and hydrogen strategies as part of a net-zero carbon future.
Frédéric Belloy, Executive Vice President of International Operations for EDF Renewables, expressed their commitment to maritime transport innovation, offshore wind business, and green hydrogen development worldwide, emphasizing their role in contributing to Japan's energy transition.
Masayuki Sugiyama, Executive Officer at MOL, highlighted the opportunity to deepen collaboration with EDF Renewables, leveraging their extensive experience in offshore wind farms and green hydrogen projects internationally to accelerate their development on a global scale.
